Advanced Scrum Master (ASM)

Take the next step in your edu­ca­ti­on and care­er with the Ad­van­ced Scrum Mas­ter cer­ti­fi­ca­ti­on path! As a Scrum Mas­ter, you will use agi­le prac­ti­ces and ta­c­ti­cal skills to help agi­le teams add va­lue on a dai­ly ba­sis. As an Ad­van­ced Scrum Mas­ter, you will fur­ther enhan­ce team sup­port by using ad­van­ced stra­te­gies, prac­ti­ces, and agi­le me­tho­do­lo­gies that dri­ve re­sults and help the Agi­le Re­lease Train (ART) and the or­ga­niza­ti­on succeed.

Com­ple­te this mo­du­lar and in­te­gra­ted lear­ning path to earn a re­ne­wa­ble Ad­van­ced Scrum Mas­ter cer­ti­fi­ca­ti­on. You’ll learn how to ad­dress con­flict, op­ti­mi­ze work­flow, and build a high-per­forming team. At­tend short, fo­cu­sed, in­s­truc­tor-led ses­si­ons that im­pro­ve your coa­ching and fa­ci­li­ta­ti­on skills. Use SAFe Skills at your own pace and be­ne­fit from the Lear­ning Lab for peer-to-peer sup­port that pro­mo­tes a “learn and ap­p­ly” cy­cle to sup­port con­ti­nuous improvement.

ASM Learning goals

Af­ter this cour­se, you should be able to:
  • Ap­p­ly ad­van­ced fa­ci­li­ta­ti­on skills and coa­ching tech­ni­ques to ef­fec­tively and re­pea­ted­ly ma­na­ge con­flict and fa­ci­li­ta­te shared de­cis­i­on making.
  • Use SAFe’s eight flow ac­ce­le­ra­tors, in­clu­ding me­a­su­ring, op­ti­mi­zing, ac­ce­le­ra­ting team and ART flow, and fa­ci­li­ta­te over­co­ming blockages.
  • Im­ple­ment fun­da­men­tal prac­ti­ces de­si­gned to pro­mo­te self-di­rec­tion, or­ga­niza­ti­on, and col­la­bo­ra­ti­on when lea­ding high-per­forming teams.

    – Con­flict and Collaboration
    Is a fa­ci­li­ta­ted half-day ses­si­on fo­cu­sing on tech­ni­ques to help lea­ders ma­na­ge con­flicts that ari­se du­ring col­la­bo­ra­ti­ve de­cis­i­on-ma­king processes.
  • 3 SAFe® Skills
    – Ac­ce­le­ra­ting Team Flow
    – Me­a­su­ring ART
    – Team Flow and Cul­ti­vat­ing high per­forming Teams
    In­cludes th­ree one-hour self-pa­ced e‑learning SAFe® Skill ses­si­ons with the goal of lear­ning flow me­trics, iden­ti­fy­ing and ap­p­ly­ing flow ac­ce­le­ra­tors to enable high-per­forming teams.
  • Lear­ning Lab
    Is a half-day, small-group ses­si­on whe­re lear­ners com­ple­te case stu­dy-ba­sed sce­na­ri­os to rein­force what they have lear­ned th­rough real-world ap­pli­ca­ti­on. In ad­di­ti­on, the lab also ser­ves as an as­sess­ment of the lear­ner to pass the exam and re­cei­ve the certificate.

Prerequisites
